Time for a Unified Physician Voice

Now, more than ever, we need an organization that fights for goals common to all physicians. The primary mission of UNITED PHYSICIANS is to advance the interests of physicians and patients and protect the physician-patient relationship.

Let your voice be heard.

UNITED PHYSICIANS is a novel physician association that uses today’s technology to create “participatory” instead of “representative” governance. All meetings are held openly, on the internet.

A not for profit -- for physicians, not money.

Every member will vote on every issue. Advocacy projects must be supported by at least two thirds of members to move forward. There are no delegates, no representatives, and no “board.”

HOW IT WORKS

Physicians represent a group with diverse opinions. UNITED PHYSICIANS will only advocate for beliefs held in common by an overwhelming majority of physicians.

01 Project Introduction

Potential advocacy projects will be identified by UNITED PHYSICIANS members and submitted to the “petition” section of the portal. No project will move forward unless it receives a SUPERMAJORITY vote.

02Identify Goals

If the project receives a supermajority vote, it moves to a dedicated chat room where a list of specific goals and estimated budgets are discussed. If the specific goals receive a supermajority vote, the project then moves to a vote on a proposed action plan to execute the project.

03 Plan of Action

After specific goals are voted upon, the submitting member will provide a specific action plan with an estimated budget. No action plan will move forward unless the plan receives a majority vote.

04 Funding

It is anticipated that some projects will require specific funding, additional to the UNITED PHYSICIANS annual budget. The estimated total additional funding as well as the suggested funding per member will be specified during Step 3.

Upcoming Features

A virtual platform is created. Physician members (entry requirements are a license to practice medicine and an NPI number) propose "projects" in a dedicated "petition" room.
Projects are discussed in dedicated chat rooms. If a petition to initiate a project garners enough signers, the project moves to a vote by all physician members.
If the project receives a SUPERMAJORITY of voting members, it moves to a phase where specific goals and an estimated budget are discussed in a dedicated chat room, followed by a vote.
The project then moves to a vote on proposed methods to execute the project. If the specific methods are agreed upon by a SUPERMAJORITY vote, the project is initiated.
